You ever hear that guy on YouTube where he talks about he does product stuff and he'll he starts off You know he looks like he should be on TV He's a TV looking guy always has the blue shirt and the tie sometimes he includes his family in these videos But he always starts off with these are you know the five reasons you should you know things you should be buying at Walmart this month Well, I'm gonna do the same thing with this. I'm like the voice is gonna change. It's gonna get weird stick with me I'm gonna try this. I should take a sippy.
So be what do you think here? Sippy sippy? Mmm. You could hear me put that down.
Okay, here we go These are the nine things that a 73-year-old man with five children and five grandchildren should be grateful for Welcome to the daily grateful. I am Michael crosse and these are the nine things that I should be grateful for Did I say I am grateful for or am I should be grateful for let's determine this because you know I'm just gonna be totally honest with you transparency. I If you ask me, I probably have a million answers, so I asked chat GPT. So let's go with number one number one family connections Yeah, the joy of watching your children grow into adults and then have grandchildren is really interesting.
It's okay It's it's invaluable. I will I'll go along with that. It's a lot of fun It has it is giving me much joy. I was with my grandkids the other night joy joy joy joy joy joy joy joy joy joy joy Three of my five grandchildren.
I only get to see the other two maybe once a year if I'm lucky But three of my kids see, you know, whatever my daughter needs me to watch them so she can go on a date But it's it's good stuff good health. Yeah, I'm I'm in reasonably good health I can't run the 50 yard dash anymore. Although I did, you know during that hurricane thing I ran the ten yard dash when I opened up my sliding glass door when you know when it was raining sideways and the wind was blowing and my Oldest cat decided he wanted to go out for a run So he takes off and I had to run after him for like ten feet grab him snag him raining sideways wind blowing through him back In the house and closed the door so I have enough help to do that when I need to do it. All right, yeah So I've had health challenges in the past, but not since 2013 everything seems to work.
I'm doing good I'm grateful. How about that life experience? Oh, all right, am I happy with my life experiences? You know sometimes I am most of the time I am I've done a lot of cool shit.
I really have I have met interesting people I've hung out with interesting people. I've gone to interesting places. Yeah, no I'm gonna go along with that that is good, you know hung out with Jimi Hendrix one afternoon No, and I know I know a lot of famous people. You know doing radio you get to meet a lot of famous people And I'm I consider myself friends also with my journey with my oldest son.
I have met famous people. So, you know, that's kind of cool I like that. All right, legacy and influencer shit with five children and five grandchildren I am left with a significant impact on the world. Am I am I that good of a role model?
I don't know, you know, I go back to Mr. Galbraith. He was my junior high school Principal and on the first day that I hit Dunedin, Florida and went to Dunedin junior high school He had a he had a thing in the gym where we all came and sat down and introduced himself and he had some kid I think it was Rusty McKenzie. Yeah, it was Rusty McKenzie held up a sign and it said always do what you know is right What an interesting thing.
What an interesting philosophy and he just said there's my philosophy right there And I said that's interesting and I and I have to tell you when I have done that when I've always done what I know is right Things have gone swimmingly when I haven't done that things have sometimes gone to shit So I don't know if I'm leaving a great legacy or not I don't know my philosophy came from Baker Miley the town council in the small town of Fernando in 1964 when he said Just brilliantly let the rough edges drag. They'll soon wear smooth by the way He lived by well, he had a gas station right down the street from our restaurant And upstairs the gas station his girlfriend lived and he was there during the week and on the weekends He'd go out to the outside of town just past the shell station where his wife lived and he spent the weekend with his wife So this is 1964 let the rough edges drag. They'll soon wear smooth Modern can oh a supportive community. Yeah, I got pretty much a good supportive community for them What the what the hell did my computer just make a noise for you got to stop this computer I'm in the middle of a podcast leave me alone Supportive community I friends I family community members good friends people that hang out.
I'm good Modern Conveniences. I love modern conveniences like air conditioning, you know, I grew up when we moved to Florida in 1964 We didn't have air conditioning you have no idea from Michigan to Florida But you know not terribly bad, but kind of bad I remember in Michigan We get to like 102 degrees where we lived outside of Battle Creek and then we moved to Florida It was 90, but the 90 here was like 110 because of the humidity Then we got air conditioning Moments of peace I work for those I Work for moments of peace, you know, I where I get my moments of peace from usually when I'm done doing this podcast I will run through my marvelous Roadcaster duo audio interface some of the most wonderful calming and peaceful music that you could ever imagine Opportunities to learn. Yeah, I'm still learning stuff today I went with my buddy doc and we went to this place in Clearwater where I met a guy a really cool guy named Nando and Nando was cool. He he taught me some stuff.
I was interesting. I just read a trade magazine tonight That was interesting. So yeah, I'm always looking at learning and for the last time a wealth of love and laughter Yeah, okay Okay, those are nine things the chat GPT says that I should be grateful for There's more there's more You know I'm grateful that of my three wives ex-wife number two is my best friend and I'm so grateful for her She takes good care of me. I take good care of her I'm grateful that I get along with ex-wife number one and her husband wonderful people my son was in a play the other night So I'll both of them there cool folks You know grateful for all that Did I mention wife three?
