Old Roads
from BlueReverend · host BlueReverend
I survived myself But barely And now I forget What life is supposed to be, Pacing mile after mile Of old worn out roads Until the soles of my shoes Are worn thin. I keep searching for pieces, Bread crumbs I might have dropped To lead me back home, Back to who I was before… But it’s been too long And I’ve gone too far And now it seems I’m lost In such a familiar setting That has changed so much, Like the mirror I look into, A vision so foreign I no longer like what I see, Just an empty husk Barely alive. I have to wonder What constitutes living From just passing time.
