Batman takes a trip into the realm of magic for only the second time in the series, and it sure has destructive results! Magic laser blasts, Batman turning into a tree, tiny alleyways with no outlets, mystical branding irons, and some truly transformative poetry round out an episode with a devilish guest star who really makes an impression. While Old Wounds answers some big questions, The Demon Within presents only the second time Batman has a mystical/magical encounter and also is only the second episode of the series to feature a character (Etrigan) from the larger DC Universe (Zatanna being the other).
