Ole Miss 2025: Stars Rise Again | Louisville Football News

Ole Miss is firing on all cylinders heading into a big season, returning ten starters and led by new head coach Pete Golding. Their defense, spearheaded by Bryan Brown, aims to reclaim the elite form they showed in 2024 — their best since 1993 — after a rough SEC campaign last year. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who stepped in heroically when the starter went down, threw for nearly 4,000 yards with 22 TDs and just 3 picks, while also rushing for over 500 yards and 8 scores — and he’s got a national title from his Division II days. Running back Kewan Lacy dominated the stat sheet, leading the nation in carries with 1,500+ yards and 24 TDs, forcing defenders to miss him nearly 90 times annually. On defense, linebacker Suntarine Perkins is a game-changer, second on the team in tackles and making huge plays in the playoff win over Georgia. And don’t sleep on wide receiver Johntay Cook II, a transfer from Syracuse who was Ole Miss’ top receiver last year and brings elite speed and playoff experience to an offense that lost key targets.
