One of Zimbabwe’s most successful and internationally renowned musician Oliver Mtukudzi has died at a local clinic from diabetes, ending a career that spanned four decades and 67 albums. The music giant was laid to rest on Sunday the 27th January. His death coincides with the anniversary of his long but now late friend Hugh Masekela who died at the same time the previous year. At the ceremony that befitted his status most mourners sang and danced to his songs.
