Olivia Rodrigo Covers CMAT

Olivia Rodrigo stunned fans with her heartfelt cover of CMAT’s “When A Good Man Cries” on BBC Radio 1, praising the Irish artist’s “unique” songwriting and calling the track “twangy and country.” Rodrigo even joked with her dad during recording, and the cover’s already blowing up online. CMAT, who recently won an Ivor Novello, laughed off the praise on Instagram, calling Rodrigo “toast” but then invited her for a pint — a classic Irish gesture. It’s just another sweet moment in music’s global connection, especially since Rodrigo’s no stranger to Irish sounds — she’s covered other Irish artists while in Dublin.
