Brian works as a Hockey Scout for the NHL as well as scouting for Division I, III and Junior hockey programs for Neutral Zone. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer Labor Day Weekend in 2018. He was impressed that during a holiday weekend doctors wasted no time studying his case, making a diagnosis and starting his treatment plan. He underwent radiation for 9 weeks and is currently on medication as a maintenance plan. He has become an outspoken advocate of keeping a good relationship with your primary care doctor and getting screened for prostate cancer. He says it's a disease men don't typically feel comfortable discussing and the stigma against discussing it needs to end. His youngest daughter Ava is in high school. His middle daughter Ally is headed to Princeton to play hockey. His oldest daughter, Mia is pre-med at Tufts
