OMNI VANITAS. A conversation with ORT Project

Join us on a captivating journey into the world of contemporary art as we explore OMNI VANITAS, a mesmerizing showcase of collaborative works by the art duo ORT Project. THE BUREAU OF QUEER ART - magazine, media, and podcast (available on all platforms). Step into the creative minds of Anna Noelle Rockwell and Oona Nelson as they invite you to question the very essence of consumption, abundance, and decay through their lush installations, evocative photographs, and interactive gestures. Immerse yourself in their unique perspective, where the dining table becomes a stage for painterly nature morte tableaux. Here, ephemeral installations and photographs of both edible and inedible subjects come to life, challenging the conventional view of food as mere nourishment. ORT Project delves deeper, marinating in the more intricate and visually compelling aspects – from the poisonous to the gluttonous and hedonistic – offering intoxicating critiques of our collective social attitudes and perils. Blending the essence of art history with the contemporary cult of convenience and abundance, ORT Project's work reflects the pressing environmental threats and distorted value systems of our time. It strikes an uncommon balance between the grotesque and the beautiful, creating art that is not only thought-provoking but visually stunning.
