Omoo Chapter Chapters 51-52

In which the narrator and his companions, wearied by dwindling provisions and the natives' growing disfavour, resolve to confront their elusive consul and soon plot a secret departure to a neighbouring isle. Upon arrival, they find themselves amidst a secluded plantation, nestled in a verdant valley, where the calm is punctuated only by the presence of idle fishermen and an unwelcome plague of mosquitoes.
