Omotoso's SCA application dismissed

SAfm — Judge Mandela Makaula will continue to preside over the rape and kidnapping trial of Ngerian pastor Timothy Omotoso. The Supreme Court of Appeal sitting in Bloemfontein dismissed Omotoso's application to have Judge Makaula of the High Court in Port Elizabeth recuse himself from the case citing bias on the judge's part as the main reason for his application. He and his two co-accused are facing numerous charges, ranging from sexual assault, rape and trafficking for sexual purposes to racketeering. Their case will be back in the High Court in February next year. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to the National Prosecuting Authority's Tsepo Ndwalaza.
