He travels to South Carolina where he sees the south for the first time and learns about southern life, he then goes to Arizona where he learns about what is happening in the southwest, he then goes to Germany and Bosnia where he sees a combat zone up close. It looks a lot like his neighborhood in Baltimore where he realizes he has been living in a combat zone.
