26.06.16 Speaker: Brett Davis Duration: 39.02 Functioning in the Body of Christ Key Verses: 1 Corinthians 12:12-20 There are 7 gifts that are given to some to do:Ministering Exhortation Giving Teaching Showing mercy Faith Evangelism No member should compare or contrast themselves with any other member Diversity does not suggest inferiority Unity without diversity would produce uniformity, and uniformity tends to produce death': Warren Wiersbe 1 Corinthians 12:21-26Diversity in the body is evidence of God's wisdom (v24) Some parts of the body need to be honoured more than others (v25) God desires that there be no division in the church (v25) 1 Corinthians 12:27-31It is God who bestows the gifts (v28) Eagerly desire the greater gifts (v31) 1. Know your gift/s 2. Encourage others in their gifts 3. Use your gift for God Mark 10:41-45 Use your gifts to benefit others, not yourself. Serve others and serve God. This is true greatness.
