I’ve learned that humility is such a key part of being human and embracing our humanity—all of it. That the more I soften, surrender, trust and remain curious, the more life flows. The deeper and more connected our relationships become. The more easeful this experience becomes even when things get tough—because they inevitably will and do get tough at times. The more you know, you realise you know nothing. But knowing doesn’t come from the mind alone. It’s a knowing on all levels of being: mental, embodied, emotional, energetic. And knowing nothing just means that we gather wisdom but remain childlike in our inquisitiveness to hunger for more learning. We’re learning how to have this human experience and humility allows us to explore it without judgment, without good and bad and right and wrong. With humility, we stop fighting ourselves and others, trying to prove how right we are and how hell bent we are at holding onto our reality. So much beautify arises when we soften, let go of being right, take self responsibility and be humble enough in our approach to life to sometimes say, “I’m sorry, I got that wrong, let me see and learn this from a new angle.” Be curious like a child. Forever learning. Forever growing. Neither right nor wrong but remaining in that inquisitive in-between where everything happens.
