On Helping Disciples

Q/A session Q: Should we try to bring a loved one who has stopped meditating back to the Master or leave it up to the Master? - Master never leaves the rope of the disciple - He may loosen it, but when the time comes he will bring the rope back. Master never leaves the disciple, though the disciple may think he has left the Master - 2 ways of looking at the creation - 1. from down below and 2. from above - when we rise above, we see from above and see the shabd in all creation and see that He is the only One who does everything - when we see from down below, it looks as though everyone is making his own karma - one who goes off the path is controlled by his mind and does not know what is good or bad for him - when that karma is finished and he stops obeying his mind, he will come back to the path - one of the best sevas is to bring a disciple back to the path - when he starts meditating again, we share the benefits of that meditation - story of disciple who insulted his Master - story of Ravana and how he insulted his Master - no one is more sympathetic that the Master - any time we call for Him, He comes to help us - Master will definitely praise you if you help bring back one of His sheep to the fold - when Master becomes pleased He sends someone to their home and if they serve him, he gets the benefit - He has described the glory of the place where people go for satsang - people who have satsang in their homes are called the blessed souls because people remember God almighty there and do His devotion - mind is our greatest enemy and is always looking for opportunities to take us away from the path - if we always remember our bhajan and simran, he cannot take us off the path - Kirpal used to give money to those to go to Sawan's satsang Q: When does the Master/disciple relationship start? At the time of birth or initiation? - it is predetermined before birth when and if we will go to the Master - only if it's in our fate do we meet the Master, get initiation, and get liberation - everything happens according to the predetermined time Q: about children and the path - those who want their children to be good must be good themselves - it is not good if we do not maintain control while trying to teach our children to maintain control - children are innocent souls - dirt of the world can be easily removed - they copy the parents - all parents should do the meditation and set a good example - parents who sacrifice their desires for their children get a cheap bargain - children are the gift of God - responsibility of the parent to make the life of children good - story of Sawan's children - even animals have sense of responsibility for their children - do we not have even more sense to protect our children from bad influences - parents difficulties have bad effect on children - good family life has good effect and children will have good life of their own
