‘ON THE GROUND’ SHOW FOR JANUARY 4, 2019: Unheard Voices, Part One: Poets for Puerto Rico…On the Anniversary of Hurricane Maria

This show is the first of three devoted to unheard voices of 2018. Today, poets and writers speaking out at a powerful Poets for Puerto Rico program held at the American Poetry Museum in Northeast DC on September 22nd 2018, one year after Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, killing at least 3,000 people as the island languished in neglect from the U.S. federal government. The DC program was one of several held around the country to raise funds to support grassroots organizations on the island.
