‘ON THE GROUND’ SHOW FOR OCTOBER 18, 2024: The F-Word on Fascism With Vijay Prashad… Native Americans Seeking Federal Recognition Face Arrests… Plus Headlines on Sinwar, Ukraine Nukes? Sputnik Goes Dark, and More…

Though there is growing alarm about the rise of the far right, there is little difference between the policies of the extreme right and and the extreme center. For this month's episode of the F-Word on fascism, we speak to journalist and historian Vijay Prashad. And Native Americans visiting DC to gain tribal recognition are arrested on the National Mall. Plus headlines on the death of Yahya Sinwar, Ukraine asks for nukes or NATO, U.S. sanctions force Sputnik Radio off the air. And more...  “On the Ground: Voices of Resistance from the Nation’s Capital” gives a voice to the voiceless 99 percent at the heart of American empire. The award-winning, weekly hour, produced and hosted by Esther Iverem, covers social justice activism about local, national and international issues, with a special emphasis on militarization and war, the police state, the corporate state, environmental justice and the left edge of culture and media. The show is heard on three dozen stations across the United States, on podcast, and is archived on the world wide web at https://onthegroundshow.org/  Please support us on Patreon or Paypal.
