On the Other Side of the River

Send us Fan MailLast week I, along with more than 500 other professional school counselors in Iowa, attended our annual state conference. It was pure joy to be with so many who I have worked with, taught, or known for so many years. These people are dedicated to helping students and staff in our schools learn, grow, and heal. That's what they do. They help people get to the "other side" of pain, of dreams, and of challenges. They inspire me to be better, to try to touch lives in the same way.We are all dealing with the effects of the pandemic in some way. We will for a long time. It gets better and many things have become a lot better. But there are lingering effects that we need to get to the "other side" of as we recover.
