In the town of Bristol, crossing the street can have big implications. That's because the state line dividing Tennessee and Virginia runs straight down the street. The south side is the jurisdiction of Tennessee, which has now allowed businesses to re-open. The north side is governed by Virginian law which regards the coronavirus as a threat sufficiently severe to keep businesses closed.
