On The Up & Up
from Catch My Reflection
A brief commentary on the interpretation, misinterpretation, and communication of song lyrics + Willy Vlautin and an original song entitled "On The Up & Up." Song Lyrics: On The Up & Up - A little bit of worry/goes a long way/keeps me curled up/afraid to face the day/a little bit of fear/mix it in/now we're cookin' up a dangerous/combination/a little bit of self doubt/from parental neglect/a healthy dose of trauma/I haven't mentioned that yet/I make no eye contact/I keep my head down/a little self medication/to keep me above the ground/but I scribbled these words/solely to express/that I'm on the up and up/making some progress/you reach an age/when all you can do/is tunnel deeper down/to find your value/it's easy to be angry/it's easy to quit/it's easy to be a cynic/and say you don't give a shit/it's harder to be kind/it's harder to try/to make something better/to help something shine/CHORUS/they'll try to derail you/drive you down in the ditch/keep you poor/while they get rich//but if you set a foundation/keep showing up/you'll catch some breaks/you'll make your own luck/CHORUS drop me a line: https://www.instagram.com/vanderglenn/ [email protected]
