On Wadi Wadi Country: from the Mountains to the Sea

The August meeting of the Kiama and District Historical Society was the official launch of Helen Laidlaw’s book On Wadi Wadi Country; From the Mountains to the Sea which, to quote Bruce Elder, is ‘a fascinating history of Kiama, particularly from the vantage point of the local First Nations people’. Helen Laidlaw is a former university librarian and teacher who has lived in the area for most of her life and has been researching the book for ten years. The book was launched by Bruce Elder and the meeting was introduced by Sue Eggins, president of the Kiama and District Historical Society.  The main focus of Helen’s presentation was a series of slides and photos which have been described here for clarification purposes. . KCR: live streaming at kcr.org.au or via the Kiama Community Radio App. Contact us: [email protected]
