With spring gobblers on everyone’s minds and me being on a red stag hunt in Argentina, I figured we rewind it to spring 2023 and talk longbeards with Zink Game Calls and Avian X Decoys founder Fred Zink. If you’ve been around the outdoor community for a while, then you likely have heard of Fred Zink or at least of Zink Game Calls. Fred made his mark in the waterfowl community decades ago. But he’s just as passionate about killing spring gobblers as he is ducks and geese. That passion ultimately led him to create some of the most realistic turkey decoys ever released. We discuss how he used his experience as a decoy carver to end up founding Avian X decoys in 2012. We talk decoy strategies for both early and late season and a whole lot more!
