One in a Million
Sarajevo, June 2008. Halfway through a peacekeeping deployment, Gabriel has grown comfortable with the peculiar freedom of military life abroad. Then a book read too late into the night, a lunch far too rich, and a nap much too comfortable conspire to produce an outcome that Gabriel won’t soon forget. Some coincidences are easy to dismiss. Others, not so much. How does one reconcile the random world around us? How do you cope when the lines between fate, luck, chance, and consequence blur into a haze?
