One Minute at Midnight | Ark Conspiracy Ch. 34 | Come Follow Me Fiction (He Shall Direct Thy Paths)

One night. One minute. And a compass needle that is not supposed to move. A Come Follow Me fiction chapter for September 7–13, "He Shall Direct Thy Paths" (Proverbs 1–4; 15–16; 22; 31; Ecclesiastes 1–3; 11–12). This week the Come, Follow Me reading turns to Proverbs and Ecclesiastes — Solomon's collected wisdom, written down so someone coming after him would not have to learn it the hard way. Proverbs makes a quiet promise: lean not to your own understanding, and He shall direct thy paths. Ecclesiastes says the same thing from the other side, in the voice of a man who tried every shortcut and found each season arriving on its own schedule. Both agree on the order of operations. The commitment comes first. The path opens after. Chapter 34 sits inside that order. Noah Reyes has a watch, a promise, and sixteen hours to fill in a room full of men paid to notice things — and the only way through is to stop waiting and start trusting the design his grandfather left him. If this week's reading stays with you, there are three more episodes waiting on the same scriptures: the morning meditation, He Shall Direct Thy Paths, for the start of the day; Resting in the God of Every Season, a sleep meditation for when you cannot make tomorrow come faster; and a bedtime story, The Wise King's Gift of Gentle Words, for the little ones.
