ONE|MO|MINUTE: THE SEEDS DAISY LEFT BEHIND: REMEMBERING DAISY LEWELLYN

from One Mo Minute · host Monique Mitchell

[ N E W + B L O G P O ST + P O D C A S T] The Seeds Daisy Left Behind: Remembering Daisy Lewellyn One of the things I love most about being a Virgo, is the ability to instantly connect with anyone. It’s definitely one of my God-given gifts. Whether it is through a picture, television show or in passing, the energy transferred from another person and I can be lasting. So it should be no surprise that I was crushed after hearing about the passing of Bravo’s Blood, Sweat and Heels star Lauren “Daisy” Lewellyn. She was someone I connected with. Over the last seven days I’ve tried to process the news and it has shaken me to my core. As a twenty-eight year old working in television, the vision I have for myself doesn’t include losing my life before I reach all my goals, get married, have children or experience all the joys of life. To see someone who I identify with as being a brown girl boss, HBCU alum, God-fearing, fashionable, goal driven and accomplished black woman, lose her life so young, put a lot into perspective for me. I posed a few questions to myself. What legacy will you leave behind? What will people say about you when you leave this earth? And most importantly what can you learn from the life of Daisy Lewellyn? With those burning questions , I jotted down a few things I could eulogize from her life. Please listen, like and share!
