One Month In: A’s Lead the West, Braves Roll, Rockies Alive

from Burnin’ Daylight · host Matt McKinley

We’ve made it through the first month of the 2026 MLB season and the world is upside down in all the right ways. The Rockies close April at 14–18 and somehow not in last place in the NL West, actually playing competitive baseball and keeping me locked in night after night. Over in West Sacramento, my A’s are 16–14 and sitting on top of the AL West heading into a home set with Cleveland. In this episode I run through Thursday’s slate, including the Tigers’ comeback win over the Braves to get back to .500, the A’s taking the rubber game from the Royals, and a rough day for the Orioles against Houston. Then we zoom out to the standings: Yankees leading the AL East at 20–11, Braves owning the best record in baseball at 22–10, the NL Central stacked, and the Angels and Red Sox looking lost. I hit the injury and transaction wire, highlight some minor leaguers to keep an eye on, and preview the key weekend series and pitching matchups you need to know — from Yankees–Orioles and Rangers–Tigers to Dodgers–Cardinals and Guardians–A’s. I Think You're Overthinking It Chris Hardwick | Daylight Media Hey it’s me! Chris Hardwick! This new old podcast is now called “I Think You're Overthinking It," because, well, I am an incurable overthinker. Are you? Probably! Why else would you have clicked on this? Do you lie awake at night analyzing some random conversation you had in 2009 on a loop? Or every one since then? In an economy of attention where our minds are on overdrive every second of every day it seems damn near impossible to pump the brakes on our inner chatter. We might feel okay when we’re distracted externally with work or streaming or scrolling, but when we’re not, BOY can we think ourselves into holes—these holes keep us stuck and unable to feel peace or pursue our goals. My hope is to inspire people to take a breath, get their brain out of the way a little, and take one step forward at a time. I started many things in middle age: guitar, piano, Italian, PARENTING, even farming (I still don't think I'm ready for goats, Lydia)…and what I realized is that it’s never Explicit Imaginary Worlds Eric Molinsky | Daylight Media Imaginary Worlds sounds like what would happen if NPR went to ComicCon and decided that’s all they ever wanted to cover. Host Eric Molinsky spent over a decade working as a public radio reporter and producer, and he uses those skills to create thoughtful, sound-rich episodes about science fiction, fantasy, and other genres of speculative fiction. In this award-winning podcast, Eric talks with filmmakers, screenwriters, novelists, comic book artists, game designers, and anyone who works in the field of make-believe about how they craft their worlds. He also talks with academics and fans about why we suspend our disbelief, and what happens if the spell is broken. Imaginary worlds may be set on distant planets or parallel dimensions, but they are crafted here on Earth, and they’re always about us and our lived experiences. Explicit Big Mad True Crime Big Mad Media | Daylight Media Tackling big cases, lesser known cases, and everything in between. Get BIG MAD over true while we discuss the details of the cases you THOUGHT you knew. Explicit Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum Daylight Media I’m Michael Rosenbaum, I’ve spent the better part of the last two decades in and out of film and television - mostly known for playing the bald dude on the show Smallville. I’m the guy that you probably don’t know by name, but when you see my face you might say “oh, that guy from that thing.” I’ve befriended some of the most talented people in the business, but it wasn’t until I started inviting them into my home that I realized, I didn’t really know these people. What started as me having some fun, quickly evolved into something I’ve fallen in love with. What I’ve discovered is that all these people aren’t that different from you and me. They have the same insecurities and flaws that we all deal with every day. In a dark, yet enlightening way... I find a lot of comfort in that. I invite you all to join me while I get inside each of these fascinating people. Explicit
