One Nation proposes ISIS fighter exclusion orders
from 7News Just In · host LiSTNR
One Nation has introduced a bill to parliament proposing court-issued exclusion orders to prevent Australian ISIS fighters from returning to the country, including strengthened passport powers and bail laws for terrorism offences. The bill would give courts, rather than the Home Affairs Minister, the power to issue these orders, with penalties of up to 10 years in prison for those who help arrange a terrorist fighter's return. Separately, the eSafety Commissioner has launched legal action against messaging app Telegram for allegedly failing to remove terrorist and extremist content, including videos of the Christchurch and Buffalo attacks, with potential fines exceeding $54 million.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
