For 80 meters, Kishane Thompson looked like the man to beat. Exploding out of the blocks in the men’s 100-meter final at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, the Jamaican sprint sensation surged into the lead, his long, fluid strides daring the field to catch him.But just as in Paris a year ago, the closing meters would tell the story. This time it wasn’t Noah Lyles, but his countryman Oblique Seville who reeled him in.
