One Thousand Miles From Texas

This is an insight into an old timers experience as he sits alone in a bar in Texas. He recognisnes that with age he feels more and more distant from the man he once was. He is becoming more forgetful saying that he feels "one thousand miles from Texas with snow falling in my mind". He would also like to see "the sunrise on a Texas Sunday morning", the way he remembered it from so many years ago. Music and lyrics: Phil Bowen Produced and engineered: Phil Bowen Guitars (acoustic, 12 string acoustic, bass, slide, fender strat): Phil Bowen Keyboards: Phil Bowen. Lyrics: Someday when you are old and grey Maybe you will feel the same as the light shines dimly on the Grainy windows and dusty floors of the bar One man sits beside his drink Looks up and gives friendly wink As the light shines dimly on his face. You can see he’s been to places near and far. He said I’m one thousand miles from Texas With snow falling in my mind One thousand miles from Texas It’s all down to women and wine I wanna see the sunrise on a Texas morning See the sunrise on a Texas Sunday morning. Falling through the age of man Life ends where it all began Where a light can shine brightly in the hardest heart And reaches the centre of the soul One man sits alone and stares Looks back at all his love affairs And he smiles to himself no point in trying To dig deeper in a hole. He said I’m one thousand miles from Texas With snow falling in my mind One thousand miles from Texas It’s all down to women and wine I wanna see the sunrise on a Texas morning see the sunrise on a Texas morning See the sunrise on a Texas Sunday morning. Outro: I wanna see the sunrise on a Texas morning See the sunrise on a Texas Sunday morning. I wanna see the sunrise on a Texas morning See the sunrise on a Texas Sunday morning.
