Tonight we're reviewing Obsession — Curry Barker's debut feature and the most remarkable indie horror origin story of the year. Barker came up making YouTube sketch comedy, shot a found-footage horror short for $800 that went viral, got hand-picked by Blumhouse, and the movie went on to do $108M on a $750K budget. The story: a shy music-store employee buys a "One Wish Willow" from a witchy gift shop and wishes the girl he loves loved him back. She does. Sort of. Paired with it: Four Kings Port Finish Blended Malt Whiskey — and we found this pour considerably more polarizing than the movie. Lon, in particular, has things to say.
