One Year In – I Can Only Be Me!

from Just Lori, I Can Only Be Me! · host Valora Richardson

In this heartfelt anniversary episode, I’m reflecting on my podcast journey—from day one to now. I didn’t start with a studio or fancy mic. I started with what I had, and that was enough. I recorded using Audacity, hosted on rss.com, and later transitioned to Spotify for Podcasters, where this show truly found its rhythm. This episode is part celebration, part testimony, and all real talk. 🙌🏾 I’m sharing how episode ideas can come from anywhere—like my Season 1 favorite, “Seasons of Life,” inspired by my pastor’s wife. I also talk about staying creative, knowing your audience, and getting support (yes, even from ChatGPT!).Then we dig deeper…I get personal about fear, doubt, and what it really means to walk in your calling. I share a powerful word from Christian comedian Jason Crawford, who said:“If God didn’t give you the spirit of fear, then where did you get it from?”That’s a question that will check your spirit, right? Jason reminded me—and I’m reminding you—fear shows up where knowledge is missing. Sometimes we’re just ignorant of our own greatness. He also dropped this gem:“If you want to direct the orchestra, you have to turn your back on the crowd.”Whew. Let that sit. That quote led me straight into the word God gave me for 2025:FOCUS.No more people-pleasing. No more comparing. No more asking for permission to be who God called you to be.PLUS — I’m excited to officially announce my brand-new podcast course:🎓 Podcast Course From Scratch 🎓For the aspiring podcaster who doesn’t have a mic, a team, or a clue where to begin — I’ve got you. I walk you through mindset, tech, branding, and more.Whether you're just starting out or you’ve been podcasting but feeling stuck, this episode is here to remind you:You don’t need perfect. You don’t need everyone’s approval. You just need PURPOSE — and consistency.💬 DECLARATION:“I am called, capable, and consistent.I will share my voice and walk in my gift.I will not quit.”—💜 Thank you for rocking with me this past year.If this episode spoke to you:✅ Follow or subscribe✅ Leave a review✅ Share it with someone sitting on a dream✅ And check out Podcast Course From Scratch🎙️ Until next time…You can only be YOU — and that is more than enough.
