In this episode you will hear about what ethical issues to consider; the importance of setting boundaries; what is included in informed consent; the limitations of technology; what constitutes a violation of privacy; and what are the advantages of being online for professionals.Dr. John Gavazzi has been licensed as psychologist in Pennsylvania since 1990.  He is Board Certified in Clinical Psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology.  He practices psychology in central Pennsylvania.  Dr. Gavazzi consults with the State Board of Psychology, the Bureau of Disability Determination, and the Department of the Navy.  He also practices psychotherapy, focusing on the treatment of depression and anxiety.Dr. Gavazzi has been involved in ethics education for the past 20 years.  Dr. Gavazzi has presented on ethics as it applies to the practice of psychology, ethical decision-making, ethics and social media, ethics and law, ethics and risk management, and positive ethics.  He created the Ethics and Psychology website, which highlights the intersection among ethics, morality, psychology, and health care in Pennsylvania, across the country, and around the world. Individuals reading and using the content of this site reside around the globe.  The website houses podcasts, audio files, video, articles, vignettes, and PowerPoint slides to help psychologists understand ethics, law, risk management and morality as these apply to the practice of psychology. His podcasts on ethics are approved by the American Psychological Association for professional development credit.In 2014, the American Psychological Association named Dr. Gavazzi Ethics Educator of the Year for his work in ethics education.  In 2012, the Pennsylvania Psychological Association awarded Dr. Gavazzi as Ethics Educator of the Year and he won the Karl F.
