Only God Forgives 2013 (No forgiveness for us on this one)

Austin picked a dark and violent movie this week, leading to a dark and violent episode with the guys. We are talking about "Only God Forgives" 2014 starring Ryan Gosling, and I fucking loved it! - AndyIn this episode of Fried Rice Podcast, the conversation got real intense as we dove into Only God Forgives (2013), and let me tell you, opinions were all over the place. Andy came out swinging, admitting he absolutely loved the movie, even though the rest of us were less than impressed. In true Andy fashion, he decided to toss out the usual grading system, going rogue and declaring Only God Forgives as "God Tier," a rating that trumped everything else. None of us saw that coming, but hey, it’s Andy's show, right?Brennan and Mike had much more reserved takes on the film, giving it a C. They could appreciate some of the artistry, like Refn’s trademark visuals and eerie atmosphere, but overall, they found the film to be distant and slow, with Ryan Gosling’s muted performance leaving them disconnected. The long pauses and cryptic plot didn’t do much to win them over, though they at least acknowledged the style, even if the substance didn’t land for them.Even though the rest of us weren’t feeling it, Andy’s passion for Only God Forgives was palpable. He saw something deeper in the visual storytelling, and his bold declaration of it being "God Tier" closed the book on any further debate. Sure, Brennan and Mike’s C ratings might have dragged it down a bit in theory, but according to Andy, this movie is untouchable.
