Only in Miami Radio Show Ep 32 - 880 The Biz - Miami Critical Mass - 7/7/14

Episode 32 of the Only in Miami Show hosted by Grant Stern featured a talk about Miami's Critical Mass bike ride happening every last Friday of the month starting from Government Center at 7pm. In studio we featured TheMiamiBikeShop.com's Darren Venditti, who is also one of the country's top competitive mountain bikers. The episode features Miami Critical Mass participants' reaction to City of Miami Police Chief Manuel Orosa's comments calling the Critical Mass bike ride a "critical mess" We also featured studio guests and Miami Critical Mass participants Andres Duque, Realtor at Miami Dream Properties and independent bike messenger Robert Noval. During the second hour, we promoted the upcoming 7/14 Miami-Dade County budget episode with Terry Murphy, Board Member of Friends of the Miami-Dade Public Library and Lynn Summers, of the Coalition to Save Our Libraries. They joined us to discuss how libraries are under threat in Miami-Dade County to have their budgets slashed to such a degree as to irrevocably disrupt the ability of the library system to function. The first county commission budget hearing takes place on 7/15. Our next 7/14 episode will feature John Quick, President of the Friends of the Miami-Dade Public Library and Frank Nero, Chair of DiBari Innovation Design and President of Beacon Global Advisors (formerly CEO and president of Beacon Council) as guests for next Monday's discussion about the county budget, and where the Library fits in.
