Only Jesus Can Heal Broken Lives.We live in a world that has been broken and scarred and ruined by sin, by the fall. That brokenness manifests itself in many different ways, both in society as a whole and in individual lives. The Lockdowns of 2020-2021 must surely result in a major increase in mental illness, broken homes, domestic violence, depression and even suicide. The bible tells us that all of these examples of human misery stem from the fall, and as such have a Satanic origin. As such, the only remedy is to have the effects of the fall reversed in the life of the sinner, and so the only answer to human brokenness is the Lord Jesus Christ.In Luke 4:18-20 Jesus said of himself, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” 20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down.
