This is the 18th class on the book of Hebrews. This Bible class was taught at the Pilot Point Church in Pilot Point Texas. The following is the outline of the class. Only the Blood of Jesus The Son's sacrifice is superior to the O.T. sacrifice Hebrews chapter 9:12-10:18 Hebrews 10 The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. (NIV) For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near. (NASB) In Isaiah 53, we have all the offerings listed in the work of Christ upon the cross: 1) Burnt Offering – Isaiah 53:11; cf. Leviticus 1 Giving self to God 2) Peace Offering – Isaiah 53:5; cf. Leviticus 3 Peace with God 3) Sin Offering – Isaiah 53:6,10-12; cf. Leviticus 4-5 Sinful nature, sins against God 4) Trespass Offering – Isaiah 53:5; cf. Leviticus 5:15-19; Leviticus 6:1-7 Personal sins, sins against your fellow man 5) Meal Offering – Isaiah 53:3,10; cf. Leviticus 2 Thanks to God Hebrews 10 For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near.  2Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins?  3But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year.  4For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Hebrews 10 5Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, "SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, BUT A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME; 6. IN WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE TAKEN NO PLEASURE. 7."THEN I SAID, 'BEHOLD, I HAVE COME (IN THE SCROLL OF THE BOOK IT IS WRITTEN OF ME) TO DO YOUR WILL, O GOD.'" 8After saying above, "SACRIFICES AND OFFERINGS AND WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, NOR HAVE YOU TAKEN PLEASURE in them" (which are offered according to the Law), Hebrews 10 9then He said, "BEHOLD, I HAVE COME TO DO YOUR WILL."
