Ontario Subway Expansion Unveiled | Toronto News
from Toronto News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
Two European giants, Webuild and FCC Construcción, just landed a $4 billion deal to build twin tunnels and two new underground stations in Ontario, Canada — all to connect the futuristic Ontario Line with existing Line Two. Digging 3 km beneath Toronto’s streets, they’ll construct stations at Pape and Cosburn right under the current Pape station for seamless transit. Part of a massive 15.5-kilometer rapid transit system set to link 15 stations and 40+ transit routes, the Ontario Line aims to bring over 200,000 residents within a 10-minute walk of fast transit by the early 2030s. Webuild, already working on the $9 billion train and tech package for the line, is clearly stepping up to make this vision a reality.
