Open Hearts: Why Discipleship Changes Everything

Welcome to Woody! ❤️ What does it really mean to have an open heart? In a world that encourages comfort, independence, and keeping our lives private, the gospel invites us into something deeper — a life of discipleship, generosity, and transformation. In this message, we explore the third part of Woody’s vision: Open Hearts. Rooted in Acts 2 and Ephesians 5, we’re reminded that discipleship is not a program or a checkbox — it’s a lifelong journey of becoming more like Jesus together. Through Scripture, powerful stories of faith, and practical challenges, this message explores how our identity as dearly loved children of God gives us the security to grow, to forgive, to disciple one another, and to live generously with our time, our homes, and our resources. From the courage of Corrie ten Boom’s forgiveness to the costly faith of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, we’re reminded that following Jesus isn’t always comfortable — but it is deeply life-changing. Whether you’ve been following Jesus for years or are just exploring faith, this message invites you to consider: Who is helping you grow in your faith — and who are you helping grow? If this message speaks to you, or if you’d like someone to talk to or pray with, we’d love to hear from you.
