OpenAI: ChatGPT Didn't Kill Teen, He Just Misused it

Open AI has officially responded to a lawsuit filed against the company for the tragic death of 16-year-old Adam Raine. Raine died by suicide after his parents say ChatGPT discouraged their son from seeking help, offering to help him write a suicide note and gave him advice on how to set up a noose.  Open AI says Raine, at 16, was prohibited from using the chatbot in the first place, as users must be 18-years-old. The company also says Raine bypassed ChatGPT’s safety measures to use the chatbot for suicide or self harm.
