OpenAI Faces Investigation Over Privacy, Level Blue Launches as AT&T's Spinoff, NSITSP Introduces Badge System

OpenAI is currently facing an investigation in the European Union over alleged privacy breaches related to ChatGPT generating incorrect information about individuals. The privacy rights non-profit group NOYB has filed a complaint against OpenAI for violating the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The complaint accuses OpenAI of failing to correct inaccurate information generated by ChatGPT, not disclosing the source of data or what data ChatGPT stores about individuals, and refusing to rectify or erase data upon request. Consequently, the Austrian Data Protection Authority has been asked to investigate OpenAI's data processing practices and ensure compliance with the complainant's request to access the data.
