Opening a Can of Cannabis (4/29/24)

Recently there are several states grappling with marijuana use and the resulting uptick in DUIs. With decriminalization of the various substances, smokers also tend to believe that it is legal to possess as much as they want, grow and sell their own, and smoke in public, all things which remain illegal most places. This lack of legal understanding is accompanied by a lack of medical understanding too. Within Cannabis Sativa there are 540 chemical compounds. Only one of them relates to the large amounts of THC that makes you 'high'. CBD products do not contain more than a negligible amount of THC, do not make you 'high', and are primarily used to assist with conditions like epilepsy. Smoking a blunt or a joint does not cure the latter. THC is not medicinal like hemp, of which there is a massive conspiracy, or CBD, unless you consider being 'high' a form of treatment for depression. By that standard alcohol and other drugs can also help you numb reality. There is without doubt a cannabis cult, however, hiding behind medicine to justify their addiction.
