Opening Morning

September 1st. Across the country, trucks roll out before dawn toward sunflower fields and dove roosts. The waiting is over — the season so many marked on the calendar months ago has finally arrived. There's a particular joy in an appointed day actually coming: the anticipation kept, the promise fulfilled.Solomon wrote that there is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven. God is a God of seasons — of appointed times that arrive exactly when He set them. The waiting seasons are real, but so are the opening days. What He has scheduled will not be late.Maybe you've been in a long off-season — praying for something that hasn't come, waiting on a door that hasn't opened. Take heart from the calendar: seasons turn. The God who brings September 1st every year has appointed times for your life too, and when they open, all the waiting will make sense.Prayer:Lord, thank You for appointed times — for seasons that arrive exactly when You planned them. Teach me to trust Your calendar over mine.For everything I'm still waiting on, give me the patience of a man who knows opening day is coming.
