Operation High Jump

In December 1946, the United States Navy set sail with over forty ships for a "Scientific Expedition" to Antarctica. There were no scientists amongst the crew, only military personnel. They told their loved ones they would be gone for six to eight months. After encountering bizarre things, the navy pulled out after only six weeks and limped back home. Stories began to emerge of flying discs coming up from under the ice and attacking with unheard of weapons. Many said these discs had Nazi insignias.
