Opposition Leader Selena Uibo hits out at CLP and offers support to health works amid code yellow

from 360 with Katie Woolf · host 360 with Katie Woolf

The Opposition Leader has hit out at the CLP Government over previously politicising Code Yellows at Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals.  It comes after a Code Yellow was called at the health facilities after an increase in patients needing acute care.   NT Health says there are about 44 aged care patients occupying beds in the facilities due to the lack of residential aged care bed available.   As a result, it is contributing to bed block, reducing inpatient beds and increasing wait times within the emergency department.   Selena Uibo offered her support to health workers during the challenging time.  She defended Labor's record while in Government, insisting $12m was allocated for the planning and design of an aged care facility but claims it has been scrapped.  Listen to the full interview.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
