Since day one I have disagreed with Oprah (and others) about practicing gratitude. Being grateful has nothing to do with getting the things you want in life. But that is what people think: if they write in a gratitude journal then they will get that new car or new boyfriend they've been hoping for. I don't know where it got twisted, but that's not why you should practice being grateful.
