Oregon Defense Shines with Three Bednarik Watchers | Oregon Ducks Football News

Oregon’s defense is lighting up the college football world, with three stars—Brandon Finney Jr., Matayo Uiagalelei, and AMauri Washington—earning preseason watch list bids for the prestigious Chuck Bednarik Award. Already recognized for their elite play with Nagurski Trophy nods and All-American honors, they’re part of a Ducks squad ranked No. 2 in the preseason AP poll—their highest ever. These defenders are forcing turnovers, shutting down offenses, and proving why expectations are sky-high as Oregon kicks off against Boise State on Sept. 5. Three players from one team competing for top individual honors? That’s a sign of a dominant, nationally elite unit.
