OREKE

from Akin VoGg · host Akin VoGg

OREKE is a song that tells the story of a guy who fell in love with a lady he met on a Friday night-out. I would not call the guy a player, but he is well-experienced enough to know that ladies are not only moved by what they hear .... a guy must be loaded with sweet words that would make a lady's heart melt like butter on toast. So, this guy started off with sweet words to get her attention, laced it with hilarious lines to draw a smile from her, and finally swept her off her feet by throwing bold punch lines which helped in winning her confidence. OREKE means 'Pretty' in Yoruba, a language spoken by the Yoruba tribe in the Western part of Nigeria. This song is simple and funny, the rhythm is infectious, and the story is so true and real.
