Origin: A Novel

A futurist who plans to reveal a scientific discovery poised to challenge religious beliefs, specifically addressing the origins and future of humanity. His presentation is to be broadcast globally from the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, where Robert Langdon, a symbologist, and Ambra Vidal, the museum director and Kirsch's fiancée, are present. However, Kirsch is assassinated during his presentation by Admiral Luis Ávila, an ultraconservative Catholic with ties to the Palmarian Church, who believes Kirsch was responsible for a past tragedy. As Langdon and Vidal attempt to reveal Kirsch's discovery, they are pursued by the Spanish Royal Guard and navigate through various Spanish locations, including Gaudí's Sagrada Família and Kirsch's technologically advanced apartment, eventually seeking help from Winston, Kirsch's artificial intelligence assistant, who ultimately helps them broadcast Kirsch's message, which posits that life can arise from the laws of physics and that humanity is evolving into a hybrid species through technology.
