Welcome to Yither and Yonder, before we dive into the varied stories of our adventures in long-distance hiking we share our origins, how we met, forged a friendship, and decided to take a really long walk together.    The quote "the shortest distance between two people a story" is often attributed to Patti Digh, Four-Word Self-Help: Simple Wisdom For Complex Lives .  https://americanfolkloresociety.org The 2017 conditions of the John Muir Trail were record-breaking and historic. Record-breaking snow pack created intense water crossings, and snow cupping and post-holing as the snow melted making traversing passes slow going in the early season. Though it also alleviated concerns about access to water.  These conditions dissipated through the season and were not necessarily our experience.    Get in touch!
