But for guys we're gonna do something special just because we know Diego's mostly as a gamer. So we're gonna talk about Diego's and his love of gaming and where it all started and then we're gonna go and take a straight off. So, where did your love of gaming and video games start? Oh damn bro.
Okay, check it. I'm gonna do a lot of blizzard games growing up. Like he played a lot of Warcraft, Warcraft 2, Starcraft and that pretty much got me hooked. But before that was my uncle.
So I pretty much would be babysat by my grandmother and that dude would just be plugging away on a super Nintendo or Nintendo. Wait did you just say my grandmother and that dude. Quite possible. I mean I started drinking on an empty stomach.

Okay so let's start with you just explaining LARP as best as you can for what it is. Without going into much you know because I understand you know how to go all day. Some of our listeners have watched role models. Wow is that what you only got LARP from?
Pretty much. Okay so if I was to explain LARP it would be a combination of a lot of things. Do you like role play? Do you like improv acting?
Do you like just beating people with phone? This just sounds like a PSA. I mean it's pretty much all. Okay here's how I got into LARP.
So my workout buddy is like freaking hammering on his bro like yeah my brother Mary he goes larping and I'm like whoa he works. So I wrote the weights down and I call up his brother I'm like bro I hear you LARP. Get me into this. And so for me getting into LARP was more the athletic part of it in that hey I get to run around for 42 hours sprinting up and down like wherever and beating people with phones.
Is it really 42 hours? I mean the one that summer long. Camping dude. So the one that I go to twin mask is Friday Saturday and the wee hours of Sunday.
And pretty much you it's a lot of stuff dude a lot of people go for different things a lot of people go for the emotional role play. I go for a lot of stuff now that I'm staff like you know I role play but I like hitting people. Wait when you mean hit people. I mean like how hard can you hit do you have a sword here with you?
So there are different yeah I do like I got a million swords I mean my biggest sword is 52 inches. Dude. Fuck. You run around basically that definitely be same as you remember I got.
How hard do you hit people with these 52 inch sword? Okay so there's a bunch of different larks. The one that I go to is medium combat. So essentially like and like so if me and you are talking Marie like if you are like hey you are like hey you can sense of physical role play like you and I probably thought you are.
So it's kind of like I mean it's a basically basically. I have to ask whether you want to be in a LARP when you're at LARP. No no no no. So asking for consent to physically role play is polite but not necessary.
I love this. I love this outfit. So basically I could be like hey do you can sense of physical role play? If you say yes I'll fucking full on tackle you sprinting.

Well I'm not your best man. I'm a best man at wedding this weekend and we just threw a bachelor party last week. And yeah we're looking for some wedding this weekend and I don't care what anybody says the job of the best man is to make sure the room doesn't get washed. So because he has to go meet people he has to go say hi to family and you don't want to need various moments so make sure that man stays pre sober. Okay. So I'm saying like if I'm playing like a medieval fantasy you can't just roll around in the car obviously Okay If you literally brought a horse drawn wet or like a rickshaw if you literally brought a rickshaw freaking go for it bro That sounds dope.

So to a mask in particular when you die you go see the ferryman and There's multiple ferryman and you play a game if you win you come back if you lose you lose that character if you're a new player It's like chest um no It's a game specifically that the game master created and it's essentially like no It's actually in fact your first death. It's rigged in your favor. Okay.
My new people have permed on their first death It's not impossible with either you just drop poorly or you're just stupid now It's it's usually the first one some people role play it and just play stupid on purpose And those are the best they're hilarious to watch and there's this particular guy Who literally just places an in rod and it's hilarious that he comes back because he just plays this illiterate like Idiot, but he's the best No, but he plays essentially in him, right? So generally for most games, I don't know all but twin-ass in particular It's you're 100% immersed the whole time But if you have to go out of character like just put your hand above your head or if you especially new players like no one's gonna be like Oh, bro, you're not a character like especially new players Like you put your hand up under your head and and the general the turn for that is clarify XYZ what does this mean and Like a hundred percent of the people will be more than happy to be like oh, well, that's this bro got it like It's what mask is very bunch of lovely people that just want to make sure everybody's yeah I can totally imagine I certainly like be going like off of you handling off of man I think someone's like a fuck that guy up There are definitely like I've never been to those large, but I've heard that there are definitely large where people aren't as friendly But that's everything it's not just large. There's everything There's not suppose everyone totally if you ever consider doing the because we would come a condo when you mean Danny And we saw this dude standing out on the balcony of the con where the dudes went a ring with like full actual metal armor and metal swords Probably not a chain mail. Yeah, okay, so at most larks you want to wear chain? No, bro, but no metal weapons.
Yeah, what is that you want to wear heavy ass armor and just be this tank that every time you take a step? It's like a hundred pounds go for it. Yeah, the only thing that I would say to that is safety in that don't sprint and anybody Yeah, well what I mean is that those dudes are taking away because they were physically hate each other's always okay So exactly what you're describing. Yeah is more um retan fighting So that's more SCA when they actually hit each other with retan, which is like pretty much like rebar Mm-hmm, and that's a little more historically accurate I want to say like I've only done SCA type fighting once and it was fun as balls But you're gonna get hurt like if you're not like you're gonna hit with friggin retan Yeah, just like rebar like you're gonna walk away with some bruises So the love that I go to is medium combat so it's a little more than lightest touch But it's also like no baseball swings get a practical stuff like let's say you and I were fighting you can baseball swing Even if you were trying to baseball swing either call you out on it or I just work around you Yeah, I'm swinging a lot lighter than you run away.
Oh hell yeah I don't know if I'm gonna lose weight unless you're a good fighter run run if there's a boss with a hundred HP swinging fives And you're this little new with five HP swinging ones do the math It's like it's pretty much gentlemen's agreement Yeah, not only that but I mean if staff wanted to they could check sheets be like oh you've only got five HP We've seen you hit like 10 times, yeah Yeah, exactly there's a lot of grace with new players for most lars It's like oh bro like they wouldn't call you out in the middle of the fight and I like I am I'm not a safety marshal, but I am staff so like I can quote unquote safety marshal So I'll be like let's say you're a new player You're in the middle of the fight and I see you take a 10 strike like I might come up to you and like be like hey Bro like amen, you know, you just took that like you're gonna use your defensive ability Yeah, well there are defensive ability. There's a counter to every attack got it You know, I don't want to say rock paper scissors But rock paper scissors yeah like if you get hit with rock like and you have the paper to stop that like okay Okay, let's say you're out of paper and you get hit with rock like you just got hit with that And you're just like oh dude. I notice it. Yeah, I mean Like you like it's safe That's actually crazy like I've actually constantly going just every single time guys this weekend literally every single time I have Something to do I'm after rope someone else come with me.

Oh crap Okay Before I say that going back super far back when you asked me like what my favorite what I was raised on what Capcom Final Fantasy Like let me just say like I used to be able to beat Megaman X one and two in an hour dude So top five games. Oh, I would say Destiny series Okay, okay, I don't know Fantasy six is the best final fantasy vault Destiny to find a fantasy six find fantasy nine Megaman X one Crap with only one left shoot.
I want to take back I want to take shoot. I want to throw let's do six top six Which is three percent of five okay? I like if you like RPGs dude, I have to say check up personify You might because I had a waifu it would be from I'm gonna leave What was your favorite final fantasies? You don't say six I will reach your faucet table and stab you do wins a Fun I wish I could speak more to six.
I gotta be honest as a kid. I was on the Genesis side of the console wars I wasn't able to play Final Fantasy six as it happened afterwards. I started playing it like I never finished it So I can't fully say right now my favorite final fantasies would be probably 12 not an opportunity 12 Kate 13 is not that good, but it was still 15 was not that good, but it was still kind of good. Whoa What did you like it?

I liked okay here's the thing I went from final fantasy 15 and then the next JRPG I played was persona five okay no comparison Obviously yeah, you played my son or five two finish them in the middle of a song or some five So that'd be it if I were to say my like desert island games, which would be really hard Other island games.
