How's it going everyone and welcome back to another episode of opinioneering. I'm very excited about today's episode because we actually have a fan on an episode. Um, I'll let him introduce himself to you, but he, uh, you know, we've gone to him and talked to him because he's been talking about how much he enjoys listening to our podcast. We're like, Hey, you know, if you want to come on to an episode, come on down.
You're the next contestant on opinioneering. But anyways, so before we get to the episode, I'll let him introduce himself to you. That's what I was trying to say. Promise.
I just wanted to add out some announcements and some really cool things. So, uh, first and foremost, go like, share, subscribe us on iTunes. Give us an iTunes review album podcast as well. Go ahead and check us out on social media at opinioneering on Facebook and Instagram.
We get to interact with our peeps. We get to interact with our fans on there. And yeah, we're really excited for when anyone, uh, you know, posts and stuff. So which I'm going to read another review, which was given to us on our Instagram.
So again, if you have a review of something or you make a comment, when we ask a question on our opinioneering Instagram page or Facebook page and if you answer the question or if you put some input, I'll put it right here in the section. So, uh, on the release of the Aquaman poster, we asked what are all thoughts on the poster and the trailer is about to drop here at Comic-Con coming up this weekend. And we got another shout out from artist Marco. And he says, I really wanted to be good.
I think the, the pattern is very engaging. I appreciate them trying to make Aquaman more badass to appeal to today's culture. Although I think DCEU missed a casting opportunity, not casting Jason Momoa as a lobo in future productions, but I'm keeping an open mind. That's actually a really cool idea.
I think Jason Momoa would be the perfect lobo. I think that's actually really, really, really, really, really smart. Um, yeah, I mean, I'm going to try and keep an open mind track record is DC's in our, my opinion is not doing great, but I think this is actually a good outlook that you have, Marco. And it's really cool.
So, um, you've been commenting a lot. So maybe next time you can come on the show, just let us know. Just let us know in this message. Also, we have a Blairah777.
She says, I am so excited. There was like five O's on that. Um, someone else, a likely story she wrote should make a splash. Yeah, I see what you did there.
Ha. So yeah, we're really excited to watch the Aquaman show this weekend to see what we can do, what we can do, what we can take from it and what we're going to be expecting going in the future. Um, again, thank you all so much for keeping up with us and our release schedule. Now, it's a little bit more consistent.
Thank you all so much. Don't forget to share a peonary with your nerd culture friends and the people who enjoy movies and pop culture as well. Again, please don't forget to like, share, subscribe our episodes on Apple podcast as well as following us on Instagram and Facebook. Now, without further ado, here's the episode with the origins of Kyle Stratton.
Oh, and welcome back to another episode of the pioneering. Thank you all so much for hanging in there. This Louise skipped out last week on an episode. We're going to be coming out with a new one this week and this is it.
We're going to be starting with the origins of and I'm going to hold on to that because I can introduce our other hosts. We have, go ahead. I was gonna let them. No, I was trying again.
Well, Scraken. We have Jason. Yeah, it's me. What is that one?
Just. Yeah, Dan is making fun of my emo entrance. It's kind of like I've shaped it. I've really worked on the tone.
I'm like, and Jason. Hey, guys. Yeah, you sound like Ross. Damn.
You sound like Ross. And I am Danny Murray, one of your funny hosts today. Colton will not be on the episode again. He actually is extremely busy.
We tried so hard to get him on an episode this past weekend, but he's just really busy. So we really miss him and it's going to be kind of like when Jason had to take a hiatus because of his school and stuff. And now it's cold and storm, but we're still going to keep going and we still love. Can't wait to have him back.
So, Missy, bud. Yeah. So we're going to do the origins of Kyle Stratton. Say hi, Kyle.
Hi, guys. That was much fresher. That was your Jason impression. You need about 13 more shots and about 10 more years of depression.
My life has seen some shit. It's going to be like, remember and, um, God, show is it forever? No, for every well, for every, final crisis and final crisis, like dark side is making all these Batman clones. And then when he gave them, they're like, you want to be Batman?
Give them all Batman's memories. And then like they all immediately died because they could handle the trauma of me. Batman. Dude is gracious.
I wonder if like any of the justices look like, damn, Bruce, what the fuck? Oh, man. Man. And then this is like, I'll see some stuff.
So we're going to be going through the origins of Kyle Stratton. If you guys don't know the origins episode, whenever we have a new guest on the show, we talk to them about their favorites. So how the audience, you movie culture or pop culture or just sometimes people like, you know, I really, I just always loved movies. So we're going to talk about that.
And we're talking about his favorite movies, favorite music, maybe some of those favorite comic book characters, maybe his favorite comics that he's read here recently. And then we're just going to move on. And there might be some funny trails, but yeah. That's the way we do things.
So we are going to get Jason. What are you doing? He's like, are you writing an awful over there? Kind of.
I'm going to take notes. You're taking notes like his name is Kyle Stratton. How many jokes can be made of Kyle? So we're going to start off with Kyle.
How old are you? 24 years old, 24. I think about it. Yeah.
I'm Jack Bauer, bitch. 24. OK, so when did you start getting into movies and pop culture? Actually, let me ask you this.
Have you listened to our show before? Have I listened to a pioneering before? I listened to the first 10 episodes within six days. I've listened to a pioneering before and that's like three hours per episode.
So that's like those were early days. It was a very, very long list. They're still over an hour every time though. Sometimes origins are usually relatively short, but are like full blown.
No, I've definitely listened to pain here before. And I was telling the guys before this that this is probably the closest I'll get to like a celebrity dream come true because like I listen to it so much. The only thing I top this is when I meet Elijah Wood. When I meet him during the Lord of the Rings trail, I'm using that.
That's that's that's going to be the thing. That's that's that's that's. You're going to meet him on the Lord of the Rings trail and you're doing. But then he's like, I loved you and Huck Finn.
Flipper was great. He's like, hey, no, you know what you're going to do? You know what you're going to do? You know what you're going to do?
Like half tears would be like, I can't carry the ring. Mr. K, if you say a line, you have to say a line to him, though, and then just pick him up and then just pick him up. What if he doesn't get it though?
Like what? That would shatter me so bad. I would not really. Like you would think like to when I meet Robert John Jr.
Or when I meet Christian, or when I meet, or when I meet Elijah Wood, like I was like, 2003. So you've listened to a pioneering and just to let you know, the only reason why we keep this podcast going is because it's the closest that we're ever going to get to start to do. That's why we keep doing it. OK, so this new pandering, you know, origins like we'll start off with, hey, like movies.
What are your favorite movies? Why do you love movies? How is that nerd part of your cranium there? And like, what do you look for when you look when you watch movies and stuff?
That's a loaded question. Not a big question. I'll take a piece by piece. So when I first got into like really watching, I'd be like watching and like analyzing and understanding movies was right around the time you first start listening to a pinionary.
So it's been a good four weeks. Well, I think I started watching movies because I finally accepted that I wasn't really going to be good at anything else. Like for a long time, I wanted to avoid watching like the reason why you watch movies because you won't be good at any of those. So I hear me out here.
OK, for a long time, I didn't want to have any semblance of nerd in me. I only ever wanted to be like the cool kid. So I tried sports for a while. No, I tried like music for a while.
Like I wanted to do something like sport. I tried athletic stage now, you know. But like I suck at sports. Yeah, I still kind of suck at music.
And I think I finally accepted that. You know what? I'm just going to be bred to that guy who's going to read books and watch movies all day. So I haven't accepted that.
Well, that's 90% of our demographics. So you're a my people. So I think that it was only about five years ago that I had started actually paying attention to movies that I watched as for a while. I was your typical like what's the blockbuster book.
We kind of think like I love Transformers movies for a long time. So yeah, that was bad. It's me. I'm gonna get some.
Can I get some bad things? Yeah, I'm going to be like this guy. Because Colton rags on Transformers. OK, no, he doesn't like me anymore.
No, he doesn't write on people like Jason who's like, oh, the destruction of everything. But he's like, do transformers. They destroyed the world and no one cared. But like what I eventually began to develop more of an appreciation towards movies and began to look for actual substance and movies that I watched.
And so some top movies that I really enjoyed. So what are these? I'll get out of here because it's the sake of the sake of nostalgia as was made obvious by my Elijah Wood comment earlier. I love the Lord of the Rings movies.
Those are the only movies that consistently can make me cry every time I watch. Well, part makes you cry. The ending dog. I'm not ready for it.
Wait, the ending of each one? The ending of the trilogy. The third one for the leaves. I get it.
I hit it pretty bad every time I watch one. Did you cry when you first watched it? Because you were like a huge, huge Lord of the Rings nerd. Like you just made a reference to me on Sunday about like like Sauron.
Oh, yeah. So when Saruman has a crystal wall, like, oh, God, like we have a dude podcast, but like I'm like, that's a nerd. So did you cry? None of the movies when I read the books I did.
Oh, God. You better. Like how you can't even get more nerdy. Dude, if you take his books, you'll see what he was saying.
It's probably. It's like pages. It's all like, and then Samoy said, Mr. Frodo, don't go where I can't follow.
I was like, why are there? It's the pages I'll dried up with tears. I like how your sand voice sounds nothing like Sean. Right.
Sean, probably he's happy that he sound like that. Mr. Frodo, I can't vote. So Lord of the Rings Lord of the Rings.
So Sean, Sean, Shank Redemption is one that I always really liked because I think that was the first movie that was not like a full blown action movie that I actually really appreciated and enjoyed. It also kind of took my emotions when you finally got out of the prison spoilers. Yeah, movies literally 14 years old. No, 24 years old.
No, it came out with Euro was born 94. Got your 94. Yeah, that's 24. No.
Yeah. The movie came out in 2004. 2004. Wait, what?
I was I'm to be sorry. I'm sorry. I thought we were talking about Lord of the Rings still. Shank Redemption.
That came out 2001, 2003. Yeah. Not even 2004. Yeah.
I was listening. I'm going to get attention to Kyle now. So. The dark night also stands out for me as far as movie skill because it was the first.
Superhero movie that I felt that it all was like this is heavy, you know, the themes and the ending was like really not what I expected because it wasn't your typical, you know, it's get the girl to be the best one. Everybody works in a kind of superhero movie. You know, it was very. It was dark.
I mean, it was titled there and I thought that rises was a perfect compliment to it. So I put this one down because what I also like about what sticks out my mind about movies is the way they can make me feel. So the movie Nightcrawler came out like 2013 14. I still have not seen that really.
Oh, I've really. I see. OK, I have to pick my time to watch my movies very wisely because my wife cannot watch anything scarier than like the brave toaster movie. Like my wife walked out during Iron Man because she was so scared.
Yeah. I get you. Yeah. Like no, we can not.
So I think dude, I finally saw Dunkirk last week. That's obviously not. It's really good. All right.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. I still think that's interesting. You can borrow that one too.
But I just watched that because she doesn't like like war movies because there's areas who suspense are too real. So she can't. So I have to pick my movies very carefully, especially a movie like Nightcrawler. That's very suspense driven.
Yeah. So yeah, I haven't been able to. So I'm sad about that. But anyways, Nightcrawler because well, now I don't want to say too much about it because I don't want to spoil it.
Jason, do you watch it? Yeah. OK, then you guys can talk about it. There's majority rules on volunteering.
That person. OK. Watch it. Your channel.
Because well, that movie made me feel which I never felt before was such hatred for the protagonist and such discontent for how how how it ended pretty much here. And like I never felt like so discontent with the way that things are. But it's also a good reminder. I kind of like movies that don't always end happy because I mean, that's not always very realistic, you know.
Every movie that ends unhappy is a realistic movie. Exactly. Exactly. And it was like that one always will stick out in the back of my mind for that reason.
Like also like this is a TV show, but breaking bad, I thought was fantastic. Just recently finished that one. I'm going to start the wire here pretty soon. And I heard that one's really good also.
So are you guys do Friday night lights before or after the while? That's right. I still have to watch that. You know, so you talked about it a lot.
Must be pretty good. I've never seen single episode. Must know. It's not pretty good.
If the Lord of the Rings made you cry. OK. Friday night light. Well, probably not.
Because they're two different media. They're two different. Everything. Not medium.
I want to celebrate. But I mean, it's two different. I don't know. It's kind of like those Vindai grams that are like two circles that overlap.
Right. In some places, like two like when you're at your lowest and you got no more energy to go, but you're going to do so because of your love for other people, that's right. Night lights. OK.
Just like Sam is the Frodo. So it kind of take all the same thing. OK. But Jason's looking at me like, just shut up.
No, no, I was going to say there's a podcast called Ear Hustle. And it basically takes place inside San Quentin Prison. And it's written and produced by prisoners in one of the episodes. Oh, yeah, it's great.
One of the episodes is about like, how do they pass time in prison? So they go around interviewing the different guys. And one group is sitting there talking about like what TV shows they watch. And one of them is like, man, I like to watch, what is it called?
This is us. And he's like, yeah, you probably cried at that shoot. Huh? And he's like, no, man, I cried Friday night lights.
And the other guys are like, no, but you're allowed to cry during that shoot. That is true. Like, that's prisoners. That's prisoners.
So I think this is a wrong comparison. But this was a comparison that was drawn to me by somebody who's seen this show. They compared it to Degrassi. Is it like Degrassi?
Oh, oh, oh, that person. I don't know who it is. I won't say his or her name. Do you want to know this person?
I don't think so. OK, that's fine. Then you don't have to say what I mean. You're in the same circles with this person, but like, I don't think you know this.
Is it theater? Yeah. Oh, OK, never mind. But that person, see, Jason has judgmental eyes.
Like be careful. Be careful. Don't you mean don't over back to old Danny who's just pure ass. All like that.
When he comes to the people like that person has a right to their own stupid opinion. That is the essence of opinion. Yes. But it is not.
It is not. OK. No, because Degrassi is like, if what we perceive real life to be, right? And I like to like, no, my wife refuses to watch it.
Not because it's scary. It's because she's like, no, that's depressing as shit because that's that's our life. That's life. It can be depressing.
Like, oh, look at the puppies and rainbows. Life's not about puppies and rainbows. Life's about every single defeat and overcoming every single defeat in your life. And that's right.
And that's right. Is it like one tree hill at all? No, I do. OK, I'll say this.
I would say the pilot episode is hands down probably the single greatest pilot episode in all of television history. Yeah. And then small bill to me. Obviously, small bill was actually a great pilot.
And then the first season is easily in the top five greatest seasons. But it's not at all. It's not at all like a teenage melodramatic, whatever. Like, let's just, I don't know if you're familiar with like explosions in the sky.
So they get to soundtrack to the show. And that basically should tell you something about what you're in for. And it's like, I'm going to break it up right now. It's like playing in the background.
Yeah, fans need to hear this. Yeah. But anyway, hold on. I'm going to play it while you're giving the description.
There you go. There it is. There it is. Right now we need to have a coach Taylor's speech.
Like, there comes a time. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, when every man will be defeated, this fight is not over yet.
Yeah. Hold on. I'm going to look up coach Taylor. Right.
Here you go. All right. Coach Taylor. It's not me.
I'm on it, guys. But no, it's seriously really good. It's all about, if I were to put it, like sure, because it's like a, you know, features high school characters, there is like some relationship drama. But that's not the crux of the series.
It's a lot more, I guess we best summed up in people who are just trying to do good and do better than their circumstances. But life just like knocks them down at every turn. So it really is about the human spirit. It's a show that takes place and uses football as a set piece.
But more so than that, football is an allegory that no matter how many times you get knocked down, you get up again. Keep fighting when you push on towards victory. Because sometimes even the smallest accomplishments, when you've watched the paths of darkness for so long, can feel like monumental victories. And we all need to rally around together at the indomitable nature of the human spirit.
We will not fail. Because together, together, we will rise. That's right. The quote is every man at some point is like, it's going to lose a battle.
He's going to fight and he's going to lose. But what makes him a man is not, is in that mist of that battle, he does not lose himself. If this music in that speech that Jason gave him that little quote that I said doesn't make you be like, let's go fuck this team up. If that doesn't get you going, you're dead.
You're dead. You're dead. Like, what did you hear? And Chad Michael Murray.
Shut up. Shut up. Chad Michael Murray might ask. He was the finder.
So was Nick Cage. And he made that move. Dude, I feel like after this, Kyle just heard his place as like the scrub on this episode. Shut it, Kyle.
I'm accepted by rolling my way. And then Grossey with Drake. Oh, come on. I didn't say it.
I said, I said, I heard I did say it. Well, you've heard wrong, Kyle. You need to listen to more. You know how like in some religions, like if you're following, like you're back, like, you need to read more.
You need to listen to more. True. I'm kidding. I'm kidding.
I've listened to 10 episodes in six days, man. All of that being said, if you skip to the second season, I wouldn't fall. The only reason why you need the second season is to understand what they're going to do in the third. But that was when the writer strike happened in like 2007, 2006, 2007.
Somewhere in there. That's. They were like, hey, intern number five. You want to write?
OK. So it's still good. It's still better than the breaking bad at their worst is like other shows trying to be at their best. So that shows like really, oh, this is a good breakdown right here.
There you go. OK, so anyway, we'll lower that. So Friday night, so the wire, you can go to that. You can watch Breaking Bad.
Yeah. What's other shows that you're all that you really do? That I really did. I really like Sons of Anarchy.
Really? Yeah. I do not like every season. The last couple of ones, I thought it ended good.
But the last couple of ones I wasn't crazy about. I'm a sucker for sitcoms. So I love the office. I love Parks and Rec.
I come to appreciate friends more. I get a lot of flappers saying this. But how I mentioned Mother will forever be one of my favorite shows I've ever seen. And I know you're one of the guys that gives me flapper that.
No, I hope you're here. It's kind of like for that show is kind of like it's kind of like Grey's Anatomy to me. The first three, now three, first three, four seasons of Grey's Anatomy, I'm a four. Like I actually very much enjoyed it.
The first two or three seasons of How I Met Your Mother was good. I actually I actually enjoyed them. But then it was like, I think they feel like How I Met Your Mother, yes, it's like, it's a dad telling a story to the kids and they're going to figure out who's the mom. And then by like season, the beginning of season two, like, oh, it's going to be by the end of the freaking pilot.
They're like, oh, it's going to be Robin. And everyone's like, oh shit, they said it wasn't going to be Robin. No, it was going to be Robin. It was always going to be Robin.
It was always going to be Robin. They said. Yeah, you know what? And J.J.
Abrams said he had an ending for Lost Two. But you don't have that turned out. Garbage. That's also not you.
I haven't seen Lost Two. Then after that, it goes downhill very fast. It's funny on this website for explosion of this guy. They have all the shows that explosion of this guy has been featured on it right now.
So, anyway, so television, okay, what about music? Let's go to music. Yeah, so music has always been like my biggest hobby. Like, I am the guy that always has his headphones in.
Luckily, in my work, like I'm able to add headphones in most of the day, which makes work a lot easier for me. So, for me, like, I'm beginning to like a lot of genres now. I'm broadening my horizons. Country still has not drawn me yet.
And I've listened to both the poppy country and what is considered real country. Neither have them have drawn me, but I'll give it a chance still. Metal has always been my favorite genre. What's your favorite metal band?
Oh, my gosh. That's one of your favorites. Sorry, Jason always just met me when I asked someone. No, I did it now.
You can't do that. That's so hard. Like, so recently, okay, this is actually very controversial. But a group came back called Azaleidying.
Okay. Yeah. Always one of my favorites. And their return is very controversial because of what's happened the past couple of years with their lead singer going to prison for attempted murder of his estranged wife.
Okay, so yeah, no, in 2013, Tim Lombesis, who is the lead singer of Azaleidying, was in like a argument and fighting a lot of fights with his estranged wife over, I believe it was over his adopted kids. And he tried to hire a hitman to kill his wife. That was him? That was him.
And the hitman tried to be undercover cop who went to prison. Didn't serve as full sentence. Got out and he goes on to the hater. And so the band came back and released a new song like two months ago, maybe.
And so I am personally pretty jazzed about their return. As you can imagine, it's very controversial because some people are on the side of, hey, why would you ever support this guy? Some people are like, I love their music. I don't care what the guy did.
So Azaleidying, I killed such engaged, it's been a very other one for me in the past. Delwurst Prada. I've seen them so many times. They're from my favorites.
I forgot about Devil Wears Prada. I totally forgot about Devil Wears Prada. They're so bad. They're still around.
Yeah, they released a new song recently. It's kind of a snunk. But, but, I was that kid at Warped Tour like every year, pretty much. You're that guy.
It's also ended this year on set. I'm more drink to admit that you're the Justin Bieber haircut. I'm with that right now. That was, you know, I feel like the worst part is I go through phases after everybody's already gone through them.
So I had the Bieber haircut like half the cameras. I was like, how come of that? Well, you know, I like a lot of alternative. Okay, how do you pronounce this guy?
Paris? Paris? The PVRIS. I never pronounce it right.
PVRIS? PVRIS. I think it's Paris, but someone told me it was Paris one time. No, the only thing that I know that has a V in its churches, CHV, or yeah.
Yeah, but I've never heard of... Oh, really? They're really good. I like them a lot.
Kind of their debut CD, which is what got them big, came out like in 2000. I want to say it was like 2013, but it might have been 14. So yeah, alternative I talked to you about June and the Lion, not so long ago. Yeah, my wife is showing stuff.
They're pretty good. June and the Lion is really good. Yeah, yeah. I think next to metal, pop punk has to be like my favorite genre.
Like Green Day. Green Day is great. My current favorite band is... My next girlfriend I love Green Day.
I tell she listens too. No, I'm sorry. Yeah, that's not me. My current favorite band that genre is a newer band called State Shamps.
I would recommend anybody if you want like just catchy songs and catchy riffs. Check out some State Shamps. State Shamps, baby. So that's...
Oh, also, one of the earlier guests you had on here, Danny Gaiigos, he showed me this one band called The Drawing Room. They had one CD like 2006 and it's mostly the Q6 CD. It's a beautiful CD. Yeah.
It's just a self-titled CD called The Drawing Room. Great, great. Dude, I have to check out these bands because I haven't really heard much of these ones, so I'm gonna have to check it out. So we went from movies to television, a little bit more about you, to music.
Now let's go to a little bit more nerd dumb, comic book characters. So as you know, I've only recently got into comic books. I've read a few every now and then that have interested me, but recently I read All The Watchmen, which I think is your words as the bible of like... I don't think it's a bible, but it is hailed as the bible.
It was good. I mean, I kind of skimmed some parts because I wasn't always interested in the very introspective and nihilistic monologues, but you know, it was good. It was part of... It's like Quentin Tarantino wrote it himself.
It really is. That's a very good old story. Yeah, I know. I was telling more.
It was actually in my opinion, probably better. So I recently did read The Dark Side Wars, The New Bit The Two, Justice League, so... How'd you like that one? Oh, it was so good.
I was honestly like... That was the first time I experienced like the anticipation of the next... To read the next issue, because like, oh man, it's building up to so many cool things. Did you read the interim, maybe?
The special? Yeah, the special... The gods went on? Yeah, yeah, it was really good.
Yeah, most are pretty good. Like, I kind of want to get back to the main story, but you know, it was good to... Yeah, I contributed to the main story, so I would go to it. Actually, they're actually gonna be...
I think here in November, they're gonna start tying up something that happened in those when Batman sat in the Mobius chair. And they asked who... And one of his two questions was... His first question was, who killed my parents?
Who's a Joker? And then who's a Joker? And the chair ended up saying which one? Yeah.
So they're kind of tying that out here in this like, Jeff Johns... Dude, I found out Jeff Johns is actually stepping down as head to right. Are you sure? Yeah, no, I asked Roger that.
And he was like, no, yeah, he's stepping up because he wants to... He has some stories he wants to write and he can't get all of them done, so that's what's happening. That's what Roger said. Well, we'll see.
I don't have a lot of faith in Jeff Johns these days. I know. I have a lot of faith in DC just for ever trying to bring in and bring back like the Superstar writer. I think they need to do a better job of nurturing the talent that they have and bringing up people with creative ideas and not like, let's swing for the fences with this Superstar.
Yeah, and that's what we said about Michael Bendis, Johns. Scott is now tapering down a little bit and just doing Justice League. But yeah, like that guy Josh Williams? Josh Williams?
That writer? Yeah, Josh Williams? Yeah, Josh Williams. Yeah, he wrote a couple of the...
He didn't write the Drosa Ghoul one. He wrote a different one. But actually not. I think Tim Sealy wrote all those.
Shoot, stories. He's actually pretty good. He's a good young writer. I want to see more from him.
So who even have a comic book character? Okay, so growing up, I've always been kind of the... No, not really. I think I gravitated more to the Marvel characters growing up.
That's cool. But the DC comics, I mean, there's no question there's a period of Marvel comics. But for some reason, a lot of the Marvel characters are my interest. Mostly a couple of Marvel villains in particular.
I always liked more of the psychotic horror side of things. So Carnage really drew me into... I really was drawn by Carnage. So I read some of his stories that featured him.
I tried to find a story that featured him. There was one called Carnage Mind Bomb. That was a story. Okay, I don't think I was ready.
I didn't really know what comic books really... How graphic they could really get. I bought her all kind of cheesy and that shit. It was all graphic.
It was awful. It was like, oh my... Because you have an alien symbiote feeding off a psychotic serial killer. So you can imagine every page is what he loves about killing people pretty much.
It gets pretty... Because in Carnage Mind Bomb, you actually go inside and clean his castes head and you kind of wish him weren't there at some point. Kind of like giving me the cell. Did you watch the cell?
No, I haven't. Yeah. Did you ever watch the cell? No.
No. No. Negative. Yeah, it was actually pretty...
Oh, you know who plays the serial killer? Because literally that. Like she goes into the mind of a serial killer to figure out where he hid this little girl. Okay.
Do you know the serial killers? No. Wilson Fisk from the Daredevil? No.
Yeah. Yeah, people were like, oh, he did such a good job. Well, he had some training and he had some time to prep in the cell. He was freaking crazy.
The reason I was thinking about how he buried me was that was the call. That was the call. That was the call when it took me to the phone with the phone. Like a literal phone.
Right. But the suspense psychological thriller was Gotham. There was a movie that she did, I think it was called Gotham or something like that. Halle Berry?
Yeah. Oh, she was a cat woman. She was a cat woman. But there was a Halle Berry movie.
Did you remember that one? It wasn't Gattaca. Gattaca was Ethan Hawking in the term. What?
Like when it's... I said Gattaca and Gotham. The movie's called Gothaca. Oh, it's Gothaca.
That was like a really crazy... It was kind of like a precursor to maybe Shutter Island where a psychologist... Oh, I love Shutter Island. A psychologist goes crazy and they put her in there and she figured out too much.
Yeah, that's especially that. Okay. Yeah. So this is one...
It was a Spider-Man Batman crossover story that featured like Carnage and Joker in it. And like... Was this like a 90s one when they did that? It might have been.
I didn't check the art. I was just trying to find stories that are character interesting. And it was kind of cool because Carnage and Joker had conversations but they didn't go long because they had very different methods of killing. Like Joker, a very theatrical dramatic...
Just like to kind of play with his victims. Carnage, his idea is like no. The beauty of killing is how instantaneous it is to see your victim in front of you in just a life frame in their eyes in a second. As soon as you slice them up, that's the beauty of it.
And Joker was... He heard Carnage talking and was like, fuck this shit on the couch. And like he never showed me anything else. It was kind of cool because I didn't get longer.
That was a story that... So like a lot of stories with Carnage and I read it before. And Dark Side Wars, I recently read. I'm catching up so I can try to catch up with Rebirth.
But yeah, so comic books have only recently gotten into. Cool, cool, cool. Okay, well we got caught up and we're just a little bit quick on Kyle and what he's all about and the things that he genuinely enjoys. Jason, do you have any questions for Mr.
Stratton? No, sir. Before we go on to the... Like when the judge is like, does the defendant have any counter arguments?
No. That's my case. Okay, so thank you Kyle for coming in for Origins. You will be on the other episodes.
We'll start getting to the other episodes and this was a nice short little Origins where we're going to be going in and talking about other things in Nerdy Cush. But thank you so much for joining us. Once again, I am Danny. We have Jason.
Later guys. And then we also have Kyle. Kyle. Kyle.
Okay. Talk to you later guys. Thanks for watching.
